Birthdays, butterflies and flowers
13th September 2014 – our beautiful daughter, Ceri Abigail would have been 23 years old. We miss her so much. These few photographs and thoughts are a tribute and memory to Ceri’s life and to celebrate 23 years of precious memories.
This gorgeous peony is called ‘Bowl of Beauty’ and was given us to plant in our garden in memory of Ceri. It had 2 lovely blooms, the first of which flowered for Saturday 7th June 2014, the day of the celebration of her life, held in Nantwich, Cheshire.
This fantastic rose called ‘You’re Beautiful’ was again given us to plant in memory of Ceri. It truly is a beautiful rose and has been constantly blooming since May this year. We do often think of the beauty that Ceri shared with many people she knew and met not only because of her natural beauty but her inner spiritual beauty.
Ceri took this photo of a lovely peacock butterfly in our garden that was enjoying the buddleia bush!!! It’s so amazing to see such beauty in butterflies.
Although butterflies have only a short life on earth, during their short life they share so much beauty and grace and bring joy to everyone they meet. We will continue to celebrate the beauty that Ceri shared here on earth and be inspired by her life, even though we miss her and always will.
I find this image poignant as not only is it an amazing butterfly but the backdrop is the shape of a cross which relates to Ceri’s fervent faith in Jesus. This blue butterfly (although a little faded in colour) was one of Ceri’s favourites and this was taken at the Natural History Museum butterfly tent in May 2014.
This pretty butterfly is another from the amazing butterfly tent in London.
Alison was in London, while Joel attended a Parkour course and she decided to go and see the butterflies as a special memory and celebration of Ceri. Butterflies always featured in Ceri’s life from a very young age from her first drawings; on family holidays – butterfly spotting and photography; butterflies were stencilled on her bedroom wall; her 21st birthday cake was in the shape of a butterfly, and even at her wedding to James, butterflies also featured in the proceedings.
